DESCRIPTION:Anton Miller\, violin Rita Porfiris\, viola “Out West” film concert with Buster Keaton and the Miller-Porfiris Duo Join us for an evening of silent western films with Buster Keaton and Roscoe Arbuckle\, accompanied by live music from GTMF musicians Rita Porfiris and Anton Miller. We begin with “The Great Train Robbery” (1902) one of the earliest of the genre\, with its famous and shocking final scene. Next will be the hilarious antics of Buster Keaton and Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle\, as they turn a traditional western film into satire in “Out West” (1918). The music was arranged by Rita Porfiris to interact with the scenes and includes works by Grofé\, Gliere\, Grosz\, Copland\, and Mark O’Connor.
